Conducting research into celebrity fashion, ecommerce retailer Kaleidoscope has asked UK customers to give their two cent on the best and worst dressed female celebrities. Helen Beaumont looks at the verdicts.
Best dressed women
The Belfast Telegraph writes that fashion ecommerce retailer Kaleidoscope has released its latest research. Here, the firm asked customers across the UK to name the best and worst dressed celebrity women. Earning a massive 56% of the vote, the Duchess of Cambridge was named the best dressed.
Ever since she started dating Prince William, Kate Middleton has been celebrated for her fashion sense. Known for her penchant for beautiful designer pieces, the Duchess is one of the biggest trendsetters of our time. Following the Duchess, US actress Jennifer Aniston, who famously popularised ‘the Rachel’ hairstyle in the 1990s, came second with 41% of the vote.
From best to worst
With 31% of the vote Sienna Miller, who has been lauded for her cool style since 2003, came third. Other celebrities who made the list included Kendall Jenner – a rising modelling star and Gigi Hadid, who along with boyfriend Zayn Malik has recently been making headlines at London Fashion Week.
When it comes to the worst dressed celebrity women, former glamour model Katie Price was the clear winner with 64% of the vote. Always one to experiment, Katie Price has made some disastrous fashion choices over the years, wearing everything from theme costumes to latex on the red carpet. Second and third places when to popstars Cheryl and Rita Ora, with 41% and 38% of the vote respectively.
Polished and elegant
Commenting on these results, Kaleidoscope Fashion Designer Kirsten Emery explained: “It’s very interesting to see people’s perception of classic summer style and how people consider simple, elegant outfits as the most stylish… It’s great to see Catherine has been selected as the personality with the best summer style – she always looks so polished and elegant, often wearing flattering, feminine shapes in fresh summer prints which are ideal for a hot summer day.”
With this research, we see that British attitudes to fashion are changing. Many women are eschewing fashion fads in favour of classic, elegant styles, looking to the wardrobes of timeless beauties such as Kate Middleton for inspiration. This kind of graceful fashion never goes out of style for too long.
